NICE guidelines for the clinical management of Bipolar

The eagerly awaited first draft of the National Institute for Health & Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines for the clinical management of bipolar disorder were published on 9 November, for a one month consultation. These critical guidelines will set the standard for the treatment of bipolar disorder across the NHS. Given the inconsistency of treatment approaches across the country, with varying levels of knowledge and understanding about the condition, setting standard, evidence-based guidelines should support an improvement in the clinical management of bipolar.
